James Green is a PhD student at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice at the University of Chicago. They previously earned a B.A. in Sociology and a M.S. in School-Based Family Counseling, both at California State University, Los Angeles. James is a scholar interested in mental health as it intersects with schools and educational policy, the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ Black and Brown youth, and is interested in the changing landscape of mental healthcare due to digital spaces. James is engaged in the fields of social work and digital geography, using qualitative methods to understand mental health, broadly. James is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has clinical practice experience within schools, universities, and community mental health.
