Mark Lockwood is a sex work researcher, sexual justice advocate, and pleasure-centered harm reductionist who values the sexual freedom, health, and dignity of all communities. Both his academic and professional work lie at the intersections of sex work, harm reduction, social policy, strategic grantmaking, and community engagement. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he is writing a dissertation about the visual and sexual representations of black men in gay pornography's "thug porn" genre. Additionally, Mark is the Program Manager on the Harm Reduction team at AIDS United where he manages a grant portfolio that supports community-based harm reduction programs in mobilizing the health and safety of people who use drugs and are in the sex trades.
