Chloe Aronoff

From: Birmingham, MI

Education: Chloe is a fourth-year student in the college of Literature, Science, and the Arts. She’s majoring in BCN and Sociology of Law and is minoring in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) and Applied Statistics.

How she ended up here: Dr. Tronson gave a guest lecture in a class Chloe was enrolled in called Sex Differences in Neuroscience. She was instantly intrigued and connected with Dr. Tronson about joining the lab.

Research interests: Chloe is interested in sex differences in Neuroscience and Biopsychology, hormones and behavior, and neuroimmune responses.

What she’s studied in the past: In the past, Chloe has spent time studying Sociology with a law focus, including coursework on the Sociology of Race, Ethnicity, and Immigration. Seeking a more rigorous background in computational methods and statistics for research purposes, Chloe decided to pursue her two minors, QMSS and Applied Statistics. She became fascinated with the social debate surrounding sex differences in neuroscience, becoming more involved in the field and knowledgeable of the processes that underlie neurological/neuropsychiatric phenomena. Chloe’s background in behavioral science informs her interest in the translatability of animal models and behavioral tests.

What she’s studying now: Currently, Chloe is helping graduate student Kristen Schuh with her work looking at the effects of oral contraceptives in depressive and anxiety like behaviors as well as the stress response.

Involvements outside of the Tronson lab: Chloe is involved in the Michigan Pre-Law Society, Data Analysis for Michigan Medicine, and the Parole Preparation Project.

Hobbies/Fun Facts: Three of Chloe’s greatest loves are weightlifting, researching sunscreens, and her cats.
