Dr. Daria Tchessalova

Daria was a graduate student in the Tronson lab from 2014 to 2019, where she completed her thesis entitled “Long-lasting memory impairments in males and females after systemic immune challenge.” In her time at Michigan, Daria developed a mouse model to investigate persistent changes in memory and affective processes after a mild, systemic inflammatory event. Additionally, she identified molecular substrates associated with changes in memory by examining dysregulation of hippocampal gene expression 3 months after a subchronic immune challenge using RNA-sequencing. Nowadays, Daria is a Research Scientist in the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Research Unit at Biogen in Cambridge, MA.
