TSE Summer School Stayover Pass

There is a new opportunity for Society members attending the Eliot Society’s annual meeting in Dublin this year. Members are now eligible to purchase a “stayover pass” that will allow them to participate in the opening 3 days of events at the T. S. Eliot International Summer School, July 5-7, at Merton College, Oxford. This is an ideal opportunity for members who have never participated in the summer school and are curious about it; for members who are keen to visit Merton College, where Eliot studied as a graduate student, and Little Gidding, the site of the last of Four Quartets; or for anyone who’s simply interested in squeezing a little more Eliot into July.  The stayover pass gives participants access to
  • inaugural event, featuring an interview with poet and critic Mark Ford
  • drinks and canapes inaugural reception after the event
  • day-trip to annual The T. S. Eliot Festival at Little Gidding (lunch on site), featuring a lecture by Sarah Kennedy (Cambridge) and a reading by acclaimed actress Katherine Waterston (Fantastic BeastsThe AgencyMichael Clayton, etc.)
  • book sale of rare Eliot editions by the Eliot Society UK
  • participation in Monday lectures at Merton, 9:30am and 11:15am

Passes can be purchased via our new events platform for £200, which is less than the per-person cost incurred to the summer school. We’re happy to subsidize this pass so that Society members can take advantage of the back-to-back timing of the annual meeting and the summer school!  Availability for these passes is limited, and they will be accessible on a first come, first served basis. To be eligible, members must register to attend the annual meeting in Dublin. Passes do not include accommodations, which participants can book at Merton (or elsewhere). They are not available to participants who have already registered for the summer program. Explore the full schedule and accommodation options on our website. And as always, contact us at tseliotschool@gmail.com with any questions, or to inquire about discounted tuition for society members. Fare forward, travellers! See you soon,
