Kassie Fotiadis

Kassie Fotiadis (she/her) is a third-year student at University of Michigan Law School. Kassie grew up in Montclair, New Jersey and attended Brown University for undergrad, where she studied Public Policy. Before law school, Kassie worked as an organizer and manager on political campaigns in Iowa.

At Michigan Law, when she is not working on URSA, Kassie has been a Notes Editor on Michigan Law Review, a Co-President of the Women Law Students Association, and a Student Attorney for the Civil Rights Litigation Initiative. Kassie is committed to a career in gender justice law and has worked at the Women’s Law Project of Philadelphia, the Fierberg National Law Group (in their Title IX practice), and the ACLU Women’s Rights Project. 

For URSA, Kassie completed a survey of Complainant- and Respondent-initiated lawsuits that reached federal courts of appeals and included Title IX, due process, and breach-of-contract claims. Kassie documented changes in jurisprudence and decisions over time.
