Vietnamese Placement Test, Summer 2025
INSTRUCTION
I. EXPECTED PROFICIENCY: Every semester, students can register for a Vietnamese Placement Test that will determine a student’s proficiency level within the language. If you would like to test out of four semesters of Vietnamese at University of Michigan, you need to take written and oral tests that prove you have proficiency in Vietnamese by anyone who has completed four semesters of Vietnamese at UM. Your Test may be assessed in the way that will place you in different Vietnamese classes at University of Michigan, based on the result of your test performance.
II. REQUIRED STEPS to register for Vietnamese Placement Test:
1.Register at the Google Form: https://forms.gle/VHCz2d88Bw8ZVaC5A (Type your answers in Vietnamese as the proof that you can type in Vietnamese to be able to complete the written test)
2. Enroll in Canvas Viet Placement Test: https://umich.instructure.com/enroll/K6YD3A or click on Self-enroll in the Vietnamese Placement Exam (https://umich.instructure.com/courses/211643) and click “Join this course” and “Enroll in this course” on the right-hand side. After you enroll, you can go to the course and begin reading the instructions for the placement. The detailed dates for every semester will be updated on the Vietnamese Homepage and on the Canvas site

3. You will receive the update on the upcoming Placement Test in your email.
