Frame and Preparation

Sam Zamrik, Ich bin nicht, 2022

Introduction

This lesson is a short (~17-20 minute) and simple lesson to practice listening comprehension and learn more about Sam Zamrik. It could be used as an ice breaker to warm the class up before discussing his poems, for example when paired with the first lesson on Zamrik in this database.

Activity

Have your students read the three main questions below before listening to the podcast and ask a student to explain briefly what a “Metaller” is and what a “Dichter” or a “Poet” is.

Play the 5:18 min long podcast from Deutschland Randfunkkultur for the class. After playing it once, have students discuss their answers to the questions together in pairs (3-4 min) before playing the audio once more. Then discuss the questions as a whole class together.

Diskussionsfragen:

Was will er in Berlin machen?
