Functional role of SERF proteins

The SERF protein family contains highly conserved, partially disordered but very biophysically amenable proteins that are able to accelerate amyloid formation through the formation of fuzzy complexes. We are studying the physiological function of this tiny protein particularly regarding its RNA-binding properties.
