Undergraduate Scholarship

Scientist.com, biopharma’s leading R&D marketplace, just launched a $50,000 STEM Research NIL Award for undergraduate researchers.

The scholarship rewards undergraduate STEM students, not just student athletes per the NCAA’s NIL rule. Refer to this website for more information: https://bit.ly/3BoVzGH

Undergraduate Research Journal

Please see below for information about the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Journal (UMURJ):

I hope you are doing well and your semester is off to a great start. My name is Daisey and I am the Editor-in-Chief at the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Journal (UMURJ), which is a student-led organization dedicated to publishing multidisciplinary student research.

We would like to encourage students in MCDB and EEB department who are interested in the journal publishing process to apply to UMURJ. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the publishing process and get first hand experience learning how a journal works. If there is any way to spread the word about joining our organization, we would greatly appreciate your help.

Volunteering Opportunity

We are excited to bring back a Bach favorite, Family Science Night!

Friday November 11th, 2022, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Bach Elementary School

We need your help! We are looking for 40 volunteers to help run the science exhibits from the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum. This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours for high school or college.

Undergraduate Training Programs at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard

Alexandra from the Broad Institute reached out to our department regarding a training opportunity. See information below:

I am reaching out on behalf of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to share information about our summer and post-baccalaureate research programs that may be of interest to your undergraduate students. Our programs provide opportunities for students engaged in various STEM disciplines including biology, chemistry, engineering, math, and computer science.

We encourage you to share this information with the students in your department who qualify and may be interested in these opportunities. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us. Additionally, we are attending both SACNAS NDiSTEM (Booth #608) and ABRCMS (Booth #646) conferences this year, we welcome you and your students to visit us there!

Best,
Biology Peer Advisors
