New Book on Muslims in Contemporary US Politics

DISC faculty liaison and Michigan State University Professor of Religion Dr. Mohammad Khalil brought together a group of experts on Islam in the United States to provide a deep look at the history and future of American Muslims in the recently published Muslims in US Politics Today (Harvard University Press, 2019). The publisher explains that this integrative work, “explores the various representations of Muslims in American political and civic life, the myriad ways American Muslims are affected by politics, and how American Muslims are engaging political life as individuals and communities.” In addition to Khalil, Muslims in US Politics Today features contributions by renowned scholars such as IUPUI’s Edward E. Curtis IV and Rutgers University’s Sylvia Chan-Malik.
