College – a luxury or necessity?

With the constant (and important) discussions about higher education today, it’s easy to forget WHY places like the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at Michigan are SO valuable. Articles like this one from the New York Times help us remember.

“But it’s impossible to put a dollar value on a nimble, adaptable intellect, which isn’t the fruit of any specific course of study and may be the best tool for an economy and a job market that change unpredictably.”

So we are thankful that Michigan’s Governor Snyder has recommended a budget increase for all three of University of Michigan’s campuses.
