For Khamseen’s “Hands-On” initiative, we meet the objects we study where they live: in museums, libraries, and repositories around the world. Librarians, archivists, curators, and other experts take us through reading rooms, storage facilities, and conservation labs to handle and interpret original Islamic manuscripts, artworks, and visual materials. Completely free and open-access, “Hands-On” presentations serve as short masterclasses that enable viewers to gain insights and expertise in Islamic art history through virtual viewing and handling. Join us for a closer look at art objects from around the world!
