Angela Dillard to be First Vice Provost at the University of Michigan

We are proud to congratulate Angela Dillard for her appointment as Vice Provost for undergraduate education at the University of Michigan. Dillard is an Academic Leadership Institute (ALI) alumni from the 2021 cohort. 

Dillard is currently the Richard A. Meisler Collegiate Professor of Afroamerican and African Studies University of Michigan. She is a dedicated faculty of the U-M Residential College and chair of the Department of History. She was also the associate dean for LSA  undergraduate education from 2017-2019. 

Angela Dillard is acclaimed for her contributions to interdisciplinary teaching and commitment to supporting transfer students. She was previously the co-principal investigator of LSA’s Transfer Bridges to the Humanities grant funded by the Mellon Foundation. Dillard currently serves on the steering committee for the “Our Compelling Interests” series by the Center for Solutions. 

As vice provost, Dillard will lead and oversee over 320,000 undergraduate students at the University of Michigan. Her role involves facilitating a partnership between schools and colleges that enroll undergraduate students.
