About

“A New Materialism? Rethinking the History of Global Capitalism at the Nexus of Culture and Political Economy” aims to complicate some of the prevailing assumptions of the “New History of Capitalism” and to showcase recent work in cultural history explicitly engaged with various dimensions of global capitalism. The symposium, organized by Jay Cook, Professor of History and American Culture at the University of Michigan, takes place April 1-2, 2016 in 1014 Tisch Hall at the University of Michigan.
