Chuck Palahniuk’s ten previous novels are the bestselling Fight Club, which was made into a film by David Fincher; Survivor; Invisible Monsters; Choke, which was made into a film by director Clark Gregg; Lullaby; Diary; Haunted; Rant; Snuff; and Pygmy. He is also the author of Fugitives and Refugees, a nonfiction profile of Portland, Oregon, published as part of the Crown Journeys series, and the nonfiction collection Stranger Than Fiction. He lives in the Pacific Northwest. Chuck’s Make Something Up, a collection of short stories and one novella, will be released in hardcover on May 26, 2015, with the softcover following in Spring of 2016 just before Fight Club 2 goes on sale!

Each month 10 storytellers are selected at random from among those who sign up to tell a 3-5 minute story on the monthly theme. The 3 judges are recruited from the audience. A variety of fun activities, including a mock Muggle Wall where customers can share their favorite memories of Harry Potter, in anticipation of the midnight release of the rehearsal edition of the script of Jack Thorne’s 2-part play Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, an adaptation of a new J.K. Rowling story which makes its world premiere at the Palace Theatre in London tomorrow.

Debra H. Goldstein has been described as a judge, author, litigator, wife, step-mom, mother of twins, civic volunteer and loyal University of Michigan alumna. Maze in Blue, her debut novel, received a 2012 Independent Book Publisher (IPPY) Award and was reissued as a May 2014 selection by Harlequin Worldwide Mysteries. Her short stories and non-fiction essays include Thanksgiving in Moderation, Who Dat? Dat the Indian Chief!, Legal Magic, Malicious Mischief, Grandma’s Garden, The Rabbi’s Wife Stayed Home, and Maybe I Should Hug You. Goldstein’s latest book, Should Have Played Poker, was published in April. It’s a mystery about a corporate lawyer whose mother reappears after a 26-year absence. When her mother is murdered a few hours later, the lawyer, against police advice, tries to figure out who did it. Signing.
Brutally Honest Storytelling Open Mic is a live storytelling event where the audience is free to be real as they want to be. No experience necessary. New storytellers or experienced storytellers – everyone has stories. OR just come to listen, that’s okay too!
