My research aims at understanding the developmental and evolutionary origins of human cooperation. To this end, I run experimental studies with children and nonhuman great apes, particularly chimpanzees, investigating the cognitive and motivational underpinnings of their behaviors in coordination problems and social dilemmas. My most recent work focuses on the development of trust-based cooperation and the role of social interdependence in children’s cooperative decision-making.
