Dennis W. Boyd Jr. is a Second year PhD student at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to attending the Brown School, Dennis worked as a consultant with the New York City Department of Education public schools, charter schools, and youth organizations. His work spans youth, families, leadership development, and service. His current research interests include Black families with a focus on the mother-son relationship. His other research interest includes out of school suspension policies, intervention research, and population science. Dennis is a Graduate Fellow at the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, & Equity, a Trainee in the Researcher Resilience Training Program (RRT), and the Lab Manager at the Race and Opportunity Lab.
