Ricardo J Millhouse is a Postdoctoral Scholar/Visiting Scientist in the Departments of Gender and Race Studies and Geography at The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Alabama). A spatial ethnographer, Ricardo’s research interests include Black queer geographies, qualitative research methods, interiority, sensation, and design justice. Ricardo's current book project explores spatial deprivation, sensation, and economic deprivation across Brooklyn, New York to understand how and to what extent Black queer placemaking occurs across gentrifying Brooklyn. Ricardo is interested in collaborative and community-focused research projects that are focused on social equity, methodology, gender, sexuality, and design. Ricardo's work can be found in the Journal of LGBT Studies (UCLA) and Social Theory (University of Kentucky). Ricardo earned his Ph.D. from Arizona State University and M.A. from Syracuse University.
