About the Lab

The US Muslims & Higher Education Research Lab consists of a group of faculty members, students, and higher education experts who focus on the challenges and opportunities facing Muslim students and institutions in US higher education. The Research Lab was launched under the supervision of Professor Nancy Khalil in August 2025 at the University of Michigan. At the moment, the Research Lab has two key areas of focus: Accreditation for Muslim Higher Education and Climates, Programs, and Services for Muslims on College Campuses.
