Research Interests/CV

Broadly, my research surrounds Niche Construction Theory and Gene-Culture co-evolution. I’m fascinated by the human capacity to respond to environmental pressures through a variety of biological and cultural buffering; I’d like to explore the various ways in which the genus Homo has been able to survive in climatological and geographic extremes, such modern humans living in subarctic conditions, Denisovans surviving at high-altitude, and isolated ancestral lineages in Island Southeast Asia (such as H. floresiensis).

My interests include: migration, genetics, ancient DNA, mtDNA, Neanderthals and Denisovans, adaptive introgression, selective sweeps, computer modeling, human extremophiles, domestication and artificial selection, the human microbiome, primate analogues, light stable isotopes.

Here is a recent CV (Sept 2016).
