Sign up here for the 2023-24 session! We welcome both past and new participants.
Monthly meetings take place (approximately) the third Tuesday of each month, 4:00-5:30pm (over Zoom).
We will see you on Feb 13, 2024 for our next meeting! Mark Conger will lead our discussion about The Mathematics of Love. We hope to see you there!
Wayne and Washtenaw Counties Math Teachers’ Circle
We are a professional community of learners, bringing together mathematics teachers and mathematicians monthly to engage in mathematical problem solving. All curious minds are welcome! We can grant SCECHs to participants that attend at least four of eight school year sessions. If you cannot make four sessions, you are still more than welcome to attend those that you’re able.
What is a Math Teachers’ Circle?
At its heart, a Math Teachers’ Circle (MTC) is a community of like-minded mathematics teachers and mathematicians who meet regularly to exercise their mathematical problem solving skills. Teacher participants explore, question, conjecture, collaborate, and discover mathematical connections in small and large groups. Professional researchers in math and science together with experienced teacher educators will lead the sessions.
- Meet engaged math teachers from other schools and districts!
- Enjoy new and familiar mathematics!
- Have fun!
- Challenge yourself!
- Earn SCECHs!
We promise an intellectually stimulating, friendly and engaging experience where challenging mathematical and pedagogical problems will be explored.
