-What happens if I get in an accident?

  • If there are any injuries call 911 IMMEDIATELY
  • Get a police report regardless of the damage
  • If you need assistance after hours, call transportation services
  • If you need assistance between the hours of 8am-5pm, contact the SAA office
  • If the car needs to be towed, call university services. DO NOT call an independent towing company
  • If anyone needs medical attention, make sure they are seen by a physician; the Student Academic Affairs Office will need a copy of the physicians report
  • All information must be reported to the Student Academic Affairs Office immediately if driving privileges are to be continued
  • If you are in an accident or damage the car, you will be responsible for the $250 of the $1,000 insurance deductible

-What if there is inclement weather?

  • In the event of severe weather, driving may be canceled – notices will be sent via email and will be posted on the lock box
  • If driving is not canceled, use your best judgment about driving
  • Before you leave, call your site to make sure they are open
  • Please allow a couple minutes for the engine to warm up before driving

-When can I use the cars?

  • No driving on or during university breaks or when classes are not in schedule
  • Vehicle use ends at 9pm the last day of scheduled classes
  • Vehicles are typically available the 2nd week of classes

-Who can use the cars?

  • Cars are ONLY for students who are currently enrolled in Project Outreach (Psych 211 & 306) or Detroit Initiative (Psych 325) and authorized by Transportation Services
