Submission Guidelines
The Crossroads editorial team accepts undergraduate works that include, but are not limited to: course essays, research articles, book reviews, reviews of topical literature, senior theses, etc. There are currently no length requirements for submissions. Any questions, comments, and concerns can be sent to the editorial committee at [email protected].
Additionally, please submit relevant photos to be included within the text of your piece. If they are not submitted as independent files, they will not appear in your piece! If you would like a short author biography added to the beginning or end of your piece, please also include this with your submission.
Generative AI Policy
Please submit all pieces here. If you would like your piece edited during the Fall 2026 semester, please submit by early November. Later submissions will be edited during the Winter 2027 semester. All submissions are edited in order of reception.
Submissions are encouraged to use the Chicago Manual of Style citations, specifically author-date format. You may submit a paper in another style.
While we cannot and do not dictate our authors’ use of Generative AI (Gen-AI), we expect authors to disclose any use of Gen-AI when submitting their work. We do not recommend using Gen-AI, particularly for theory, analysis, or citations, as it may result in partial and/or unreliable scholarship. If Gen-AI has been used for any purpose (including editing and revision), this must be clearly communicated to us at the time of submission. We reserve the right to reject a piece. Lastly, if a larger audience questions whether a publication was authored by Gen-AI, Crossroads as an institution does not assume responsibility. This is due to our clear guidelines as mentioned above, our reliance on author transparency as a value, and the fact that we do not screen submissions using AI detection software.
