Undergraduate Courses

Professor Vaillant’s primary courses are Communication 350, “The Rise and Demise of Mass Culture” and Comm. 271, “Revolutions in Communication,” a survey tracing the rise of communication and media technologies from ancient Uruk to digital tablets. He also teaches Communication 460, a Technology & Culture Capstone; Communication 159, a freshman seminar; and Communication 322, a research practicum exploring the Flint Water crisis in historical perspective.

 

Graduate Courses

Professor Vaillant teaches topics courses on the history of technology, communication, and culture and the core media theory seminar.
