A 100-year contract between the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority and the private company that owns the Ambassador Bridge may come to an end soon.
The port authority’s board of directors agreed Friday to approve a new deal, voting 4-1. Andrew Doctoroff, secretary-treasurer of the port’s board, cast the lone “no” vote. He said he was given short notice about the deal and still had questions about such a complicated transaction, which involves selling port land that was not put out for public bidding.
