Keanu Heydari

Keanu Heydari is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History. His research focuses on French and Iranian cultural, intellectual, and migration history. Heydari’s dissertation examines Iranian students, political dissidents, and intellectuals in Europe after the 1953 coup d’état in Iran. Heydari was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and is an alumnus of the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A., History, French language minor, 2017).

Paige Newhouse

Paige Newhouse is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History. Her research focuses on postcolonial labor and migration history in Germany. Newhouse’s dissertation examines Vietnamese workers and their engagement with two different German states from 1980 to 2000 and explores how both Vietnamese and Germans redefined categories of migrant after 1989. Newhouse graduated with an A.B. in History and German Studies from Duke University in 2017.
