Homeira Qaderi and Aliyeh Ataei: A Conversation on the Art of Prose Fiction

Salaam bar hamegi,

This is not specifically a Michigan event, but I expect it will be of interest to many in our community. This promises to be a fascinating conversation, and anyone can attend via Zoom! Read below for more information, and click here to register.

This year, the Iranian Studies Program at the Yale MacMillan Center is hosting the major Afghan novelist and memoirist Homeira Qaderi as our Writer in Residence. Over the course of this year, Qaderi will conduct several conversations with other Persian-language writers about their craft. We are pleased to announce the first event in this series, Wednesday Nov. 15 from 11:30am-1pm Eastern US time, will be a conversation between Qaderi and the Iranian short story writer Aliyeh Ataei about the art of prose fiction. This will be an online webinar conducted in Persian, and we invite Persian-speakers from all over the world to tune in. The event will be introduced by Sam Hodgkin, an Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at Yale, and moderated by Latifeh Aavani, the current Yarshater Fellow in Iranian Studies.
