To gain access to the CMS Claims/Michigan Medicine Electronic Health Record (EHR) data Repository, the proposed research study will need to keep in mind the following guidelines:
- The proposed analysis needs to contribute to the Precision Health research study aims, even if indirectly, through measure development or cohort creation;
- Most time-series analyses will span Covid and must account for Covid-related disruptions in some way, which is allowable given Precision Health’s protocol and study aims;
- Anything Covid, cancer, or cardiovascular-disease-focused would be sufficient to enable access to the Repository. Other conditions would be allowable only if the proposed analysis is accounting for Covid-related disruptions in some way.
These constraints on data access are set by CMS and Precision Health adheres to them closely, in partnership with IHPI Data and Methods Hub; broader use may be allowed in the future. Please contact the PH Research Scientific Facilitators at PHDataHelp@umich.edu to learn more about these guidelines.
