If you are a new member of the Alpha of Michigan chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, you should  think of your induction as the first step in your relationship with Phi Beta Kappa.  Your membership is for life and offers opportunities for you to engage with headquarters, chapters, and associations in many ways.  You can join an association near you or, lacking one, you can stay connected through social media, Linked In, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  The Society’s National Arts and Sciences Initiative provides a way to become involved in advocacy, supporting continued funding for the National Endowment of the Arts and the National Endowment of the Humanities and the efforts of the March for Science, for example.  Headquarters has just initiated a program called Key Connections to get you in touch with the Association of PBK members nearest your place of residence in the fall.  Associations across the country will be holding events between September 7 and 10.  All of that information will soon be posted on the PBK website.
