“I am close to completing my Plant Biology B.S. I was lost until I met Robyn in the Michigan flora course, and I have been involved with plant taxonomy, the CLIMBERS project, and study of herbarium specimens since then. I suffer a lifelong passion revolving around horses.” ~Lauren Achtemeier

I am studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and have a love for all things botanical. I am interested in Michigan’s native plants and how their distributions may change in response to climate change. I enjoy playing music and going on very long hikes whenever I get the chance! — John Bradtke

“I designed the Michigan CLIMBERS website and I led Robyn into the modern age, with grace and patience. I am now in a graduate program at Northwestern University where I try hard to ignore Robyn’s pleas for “HELP, SOCORRO, AJUDAME” because she generally figures it out if I give her enough time… However, I am dedicated to development of tools for accessing information on the internet on biological characteristics of local species. Go CLIMBERS!” ~Claire Malley

“I am a graduate student at UM School of Natural Resources and Environment studying landscape architecture and conservation ecology. I’m interested in native plant communities, restoration, and stormwater management.” ~Alexandria Peters

“I am in a PhD program at the University of Pittsburgh studying the evolution of floral UV patterns and sexual dimorphism in plants.” ~Matt Koski

“After majoring in PiTE (Program in the Environment) at the University of Michigan, I had several interesting field jobs for environmental agencies, NGOs, and parks departments. I now work for ECI (Environmental Consultants, Inc.), the utility foresters for DTE Energy. I still keep a sharp eye out for vines!” ~Christine Santanna

I am a transfer student and am approaching completion of my major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. After meeting with Robyn in summer of 2016, I developed a deep interest in plants and biological nitrogen fixation. Currently, I am working for the USGS as an Assistant in Research. During my free time I enjoy hunting for mushrooms, fishing, camping, and hiking. ~JJ Vance
