Welcome to the Psychopathology, Population Health, and Genetics Lab.

We study the development of self-regulation problems over the life course, with a particular focus on disinhibitory psychopathology (substance use disorders and antisocial behavior), suicide, and self-harm. Our work also focuses on the relation between self-regulation problems and physical health.

Our research uses a variety of statistical approaches and leverages data from population-based administrative registers, longitudinal studies, and genetically-informative samples (e.g., studies of twins). We collaborate with researchers in New Zealand, Denmark, and elsewhere across the world.
