Color Website Launch!

Caroline Roberts and Suzanne Davis, Kelsey Color Research Principal Investigators

Suzanne and I are excited to announce the launch of our project’s website, Investigating Color in Roman
Egypt
! Over the past two years, Suzanne and I—and our collaborators (see our About Us section)—have
been busy imaging and analyzing pigments and dyes on artifacts in the Kelsey’s Roman Egyptian
collection. We’ve gathered this color data and wrote up our research workflows, and compiled this
information into an online toolkit for color research. The site features imaging and analysis workflows,
case studies from our technical survey of the collection, and extensive bibliographic resources. We hope
that visitors to the site will find useful tools to facilitate this kind of research in their own collections.

We would like to express our gratitude to Eric Campbell, Kelsey Museum Graphic Designer, and Emily
Allison, Kelsey Communications editor, for building the site and making our content accessible.
