The Psycholinguistics Laboratory investigates language processing from an interdisciplinary perspective. Our research focuses on the interfaces of word recognition, syntactic processing, and semantic processing, and we study language processing in normal adults who are using their native language(s). Prospective graduate students should contact Dr. Julie Boland for more information and should consider applying to the Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience program within the Department of Psychology. Current University of Michigan graduate students from any area of Psychology, or in other departments (e.g., Linguistics), can also become involved in our research or initiate collaborative projects in the Psycholinguistics Laboratory.

Undergraduates who would like to do an independent study or honors project in the Psycholinguistics Laboratory should contact Dr. Julie Boland to discuss the possibility. No experience is necessary, but priority is given to students who have at least sophomore status and who would like to be in the lab over multiple semesters.
