Mission

The Kozik lab seeks to understand the microbiological contributions to processes of host immune-microbiome interactions in the human airway and leverage multi-omic (microbiome, genome, transcriptome, metabolome, proteome, etc.), environmental (animal/allergen/chemical exposures, climate, etc.), and ecosocial (neighborhood, stress, violence, poverty, discrimination, etc.) data to better define precisely how our physical and social environments impact the overall development of diseases such as asthma. Our goal is to advance knowledge of respiratory microbiology relevant to chronic respiratory disease.

Values

We value teamwork, communication, curiosity, and community.

Most importantly, we affirm that science is for everyone.
