Our applications are posted – middle school campers, please apply by April 18!!!
In Summer 2025, our camp will run July 7 – August 8, Monday – Thursday each week at Central Campus in Ann Arbor. We hope to have 60 middle schoolers, 35 high schoolers (teaching assistants and program assistants), and 20 college students in our camp. Using a “kids teaching kids” model, the high school students serve as teaching assistants and program assistants for the younger students. Our college students, many of whom are often former Math Corps campers themselves, work as instructors and mentors. Everyone will be placed on a team; each team consists of ten middle school campers, five high school teaching assistants and program assistants (TAs and PAs) and one college student (the CI) as the team leader. The CIs, CAs, TAs, and PAs not only serve as teachers and role models for the middle schoolers, but also as “older siblings”. Students receive math instruction in both the basics and advanced topics, while being immersed in a culture of support and achievement.
Most importantly, the Math Corps offers students a vision of the world that begins with the message of “Be Yourself!” – as there is greatness within – and then builds a sense of family and community that is based on the values of kindness and integrity, that espouses the power of courage and that asks no less of middle and high school kids than to change the world.
