Abigail Histed
Staff Coordinator
Abigail is a lab manager who received a B.S in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience, and a B.A. in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. She is interested in understanding the biological embedding of stress, specifically the somatization of complex trauma. She is passionate about approaching research from an intersectional perspective, and understanding the impact of systemic injustices. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing outdoors and at the local gym.
Allison LaMonica
Data Manager
Allison is a first-generation student who graduated from the University of Michigan in 2023 with a BS in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She began working with the MiND lab on the Michigan Twins Neurogenetics Study (MTwiNS) shortly after. She enjoys learning about the underlying processes behind mental disorders. She is hoping to attend graduate school to get either a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or an MSW. In her free time, she enjoys checking out local trails, knitting, and rewatching her favorite TV shows.
Gabrielle Maramag

Gabby is a lab manager who received her B.S. in Psychology from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in the impact of stress and trauma, social context, and early temperament on developing psychopathology. She hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology to contribute to research that influences clinical practice or policy, and perform clinical work that helps children and families find their resilience. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, drawing and painting, and building in Minecraft with her friends.
Emma Morse

Emma is a lab manager who graduated from the University of Michigan in 2023 with a B.A. in Psychology. Her research interests lie at the intersection of intimate partner violence, trauma, and resilience, with a focus on the well-being of women and children. In the future, she hopes to pursue a graduate degree in social work or clinical psychology to work closely with survivors and advance existing knowledge about prevention and intervention strategies. For fun she likes to stay active, watch reality TV, bake, and spend time with her family, friends, and cat—Winnie.
Nour Kanaan

Nour is a first-gen student who graduated in 2023 with a B.S. in Psychology with minors in Neuroscience and German from Duke University. Her research interests focus on exploring the intricate relationship between brain development, early life experiences, and mental health, particularly examining how early adversity influences brain development and the mechanisms of resilience. Nour is also passionate about adapting psychological research and interventions to fit different cultural contexts. In the future, she aims to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology to continue her research and work directly with underserved populations. In her free time, Nour enjoys working out, reading philosophy books, and attempting to recreate her mom’s cooking in the kitchen.
