Jack (Yike) Shan

2021 COHORT

I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Quantitative Finance & Risk Management  at the University of Michigan. I earned bachelor’s degrees in statistics and computer science from Wake Forest University. My academic experience in college really brings me an interest in pursuing quantitative finance, and I find my skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and computer programming are extremely helpful. As an undergraduate, I undertook academic research with Professor Nejat Seyhun from the University of Michigan that focused on pricing options and the efficiency of CBOE options markets. The paper for this project has been published by Frontiers in Economics and Management. My future plan is to work at a quantitative trading firm or an investment bank.

I am skilled in data analysis and data visualization, and I have experience using programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, and R. Outside of school and work, I enjoy playing music and sports. I am a violinist and was a member of the university orchestra, and I would like to pursue learning music production.
