investigating efficacy of immunotherapy relative to varying cancer profiles
PI: Michael Green (Michigan Medicine)

abstract
The Green Lab seeks to understand how best to integrate immunotherapy in tandem with traditional cancer therapies, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery. This research agenda characterizes predictors of immunotherapy efficacy.

investigating efficacy of novel biomarkers in prostate cancer detection
PI: Arul Chinnaiyan (Michigan Medicine)

abstract
The Chinnaiyan Lab developed the MyProstateScore (MPS) as an early detection test for prostate cancer. Rather than relying on blood-based prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels alone, MPS combines PSA with urine levels of 2 genes specific to prostate cancer: TMPRSS2:ERG and PCA3. This research agenda evaluates the clinical efficacy of MPS.

developing vectorcardiographic predictor of cardiovascular outcomes
PI: John Nicklas (Michigan Medicine)
abstract

Using vectorcardiographic data from electrocardiograms from a single academic hospital center, we develop a model to predict health outcomes for patients with STEMI.

developing open-source ventilator for hospitals with critical resource constraints
PI: Rodney Daniels
abstract

In in the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic, ventilator shortages were widespread, globally. While resource-heavy nations were able to invest in state-of-the-art ventilator technology, resource-constrained nations could not; this device offers an effective and affordable alternative to complicated and expensive machinery.
