My research concerns the history of mammalian diversity in relation to global environmental change over a range of spatial and temporal scales.  This interest links my work in mammal paleoecology, biogeography of modern mammals, and the current loss of biodiversity.  The common link among these areas is the ecological and evolutionary responses of biodiversity to global change.
