Congrats Dr. Wagley!

Congratulations to Dr. Neelima Wagley, who successfully defended her dissertation “Language and Literacy Development as Revealed Through the Bilingual Brain” on April 16th!!

Neelima’s dissertation combines behavioral measures of language and literacy in a large (>100!) cohort of school-aged bilingual children with fNIRs imaging of language comprehension-related brain activity. She probes this rich dataset with structural equation modeling to tease out the multifaceted relationships between competencies in different languages, associated brain activity, and literacy outcomes. So exciting!
