Welcome to the webpage of the research group led by Professor Georg Raithel at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor!

Our group utilizes laser cooling and trapping of neutral atoms as well as hot atoms in vapor cells to investigate various topics in AMO Physics. These include (but not limited to):

  • Rydberg atoms and molecules
  • precision measurements and spectroscopy
  • quantum information, sensing and control
  • atom interferometry
  • ultracold neutral and charged plasmas.

Surf through the pages to get to know more!

We are looking for new graduate students (2024-2025 Academic Year)! Please contact Prof. Raithel or current students for details.
