Jing Nie defended her thesis on “Capillary Electrophoresis to Monitor Protein-Protein Interactions” on June 27. Her research encompassed developing separations for Hsp70, Bag3, and their complexes and then screening for inhibitors of the complex. She also initiated several “droplet” projects related to screening including development of a beautiful chip for splitting droplets, which might be valuable for screening. Jing is headed to a position in the biopharmaceutical industry.
