Tanvi Surapaneni

Tanvi is a sophomore studying Neuroscience with a potential minor in Computer Science. She plans to attend medical school in the future. She is curious about how the brain and body interact and how innovations like AI could shape the future of medicine. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, trying new foods, and listening to music.

Ava Schaefer

Ava is a senior on the pre-med track studying Biology and Spanish at the University of Michigan. She has research interests in the social determinants of health and the influence of mental health on physical health. In her free time, she likes to try different cafes around Ann Arbor and going on nature walks.

Tanisha Parikh

Tanisha is a Junior on the Pre-Med Track majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a minor in Business at the University of Michigan. She is interested in psychopathology within cancer focused research as well as women’s health. In her free time, she likes listening to music, dancing, and exploring different cafes in Ann Arbor.    

Jasnoor Kaur

Jasnoor is a senior studying Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Her research interests include studying neural mechanisms and circuitry underlying neuropsychological disorders and how these systems evolve during disease progression. She hopes to attend medical school in the future and is currently in the process of applying. Some of her hobbies include working out, drawing, and traveling.

Nikki Kamath

Nikki is a junior at the University of Michigan from Long Island, New York, majoring in Neuroscience. Her academic interests focus on exploring the connections between the brain, mind, and health, while also being passionate about science communication. In the future, she plans on attending medical school. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, playing board games, and traveling.

Chloe Carey


Chloe is a junior double majoring in Italian and Biopsychology, Cognition & Neuroscience. She is interested in how social determinants of health affect psychopathology diagnoses and symptoms. Outside of the lab she enjoys running, painting and being outside!

Harman Singh

Harman is a junior at the University of Michigan studying Biopsychology, Cognition, & Neuroscience and Spanish. He is from Saginaw, MI, and plans to attend med school in the future. His research interests include studying the relationship between health disparities and psychosocial stress. Outside of academics, he likes working out, trying new places to eat, and creative writing.

Abigail Lemacks

Abby is a senior at the University of Michigan, studying Psychology and English. She is from Three Rivers, MI and wants to pursue graduate school in clinical psychology or social work in the future. Her research interests lie at the connection between the gut and the brain. Outside of school Abby enjoys playing instruments, rec sports, and reading.

Dia is a sophomore studying psychology and philosophy.She is interested in how environmental and psychological factors influence autoimmune and other chronic diseases. Outside the lab, she likes to play piano, play tennis, and is coxswain on the Michigan Men’s Rowing team.
