The lab had a successful trip to sunny San Diego for the 2020 Biophysical Society Meeting!
Congratulations to Ben, Kamirah, and 2016 REU student Beth Hayter! This team identified a structural sodium ion in the the Fluc family fluoride channels and characterized its contribution to fluoride channel activity. Does this tell us something about the evolution of sodium-coupled transporters? See the paper here.
We’re looking for a new team member! Applicants should be highly motivated, and have a background in biochemistry/structural biology, physiology, or microbiology (broadly defined). Please send a CV directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Randy has been selected for a Burroughs Wellcome Fund faculty award in Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease. This award will support investigation of the molecular physiology of microbial communication via ion channels.
The Stockbridge lab had a great time at the Society of General Physiologists 72nd Annual Symposium in Woods Hole, MA! Congratulations to Kamirah, who won a travel award to present her poster, “Binding of a structural sodium is required for an anion channel’s conducting conformation.” And congratulations to Chris for winning a poster prize for …
