miniSTIM

This multimodal neuroimaging study seeks to understand the links between neurotransmitters and brain activity and how neurostimulation influences this relationship in aging.  Specifically, we aim to better understand the mechanisms underlying the relationship between glutamate and brain activity and how this relationship may be altered by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). We also aim to examine cognitive and functional differences in these effects by including  healthy older adults and individuals with mild cognitive impairment in this study.

Status: We are actively recruiting participants who are 60 years or older (right-handed) with normal cognition or a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

Participants will complete a series of neuropsychological assessments and two imaging sessions. Interested parties can find more information at Clinical Trials.org (https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT06453980?cond=NCT06453980&rank=1) or can contact the team ([email protected]).
