Studies in East Hall

The ENL lab is located at B313/B317 in the basement of East Hall, at 530 Church street. We are in an interior hallway, one over from the northernmost hallway of the building (the northernmost one is the hallway to the far right if you are facing East Hall outside on Church street).

Group testing is often done in the computer lab (B254 or B250) in the basement of East Hall, in the northernmost hallway of the building.

It is difficult to find these labs and the building is locked most evenings and weekends, so student studies usually just give the room number but community studies often meet people outside on Church Street, at the entrance to the Psychology Department. Check your instructions carefully.

If you were asked to wait outside, *please* do wait outside and we will come out to find you. Please be on time so you are there when the researcher comes to let you in to the building. If you are late, we will come back up approximately 15 minutes after your appointment to check for you again. We do not have access to a phone in the computer lab, so it is hard to reach us if you get lost or are late.

Parking

There is metered parking outside of East Hall and on South University, which usually has openings in the evenings and weekends. If you cannot find a space on the street but work at the university, there is a University Lot (Blue and Gold passes) across the street from East Hall on Church Street. If you do not work at the university, there is a paid lot one block away that you access on S. Forest Street, just south of the intersection with South University.

Directions

FROM THE EAST: If you are coming from east of Ann Arbor, take highway 94 to route 23N. Exit onto Washtenaw avenue towards Ann Arbor (west). Follow Washtenaw past the shopping centers until it splits at the Bearclaw Coffee stand. Bear right to stay on Washtenaw. Turn left on South University. If you are going to the paid lot, turn left onto Forest Street and the parking ramp will be on your right. If you are going directly to East Hall, turn right onto Church Street and East Hall will be on your left. The Department of Psychology entrance is the second one, at the far/northern side of the building.

FROM THE WEST: If you are coming from the western side of Ann Arbor, take I-94 east. Take exit 172 toward Ann Arbor. Slight left at Jackson Avenue. Follow Jackson Avenue across the large intersection with W. Stadium Boulevard, bear right as road becomes W. Huron Street. Continue on W. Huron Street across Main Street, through town, follow the road as it makes a 90 degree turn after Fletcher Street and turns into Washtenaw Avenue. Turn right at the intersection with Geddes Avenue/N. University on to N. University Avenue. Take the first left onto Church Street. East Hall will be half way down the block on your right; the Department of Psychology entrance in the first one, on the north side of the building.

MCity Autonomous Vehicle Studies

MCity studies take place in the MCity Auxiliary Building, 1929 Green Rd, Ann Arbor Michigan, 48109.

To access this building, drive on Green Road (south from Plymouth Rd/US-23; north from Glazier Way).

Turn west into the Plymouth Green parking lot (right off Plymouth Rd/US-23; left off Glazier Way). You will see a smaller sign at the parking lot entrance for the “Mcity Auxiliary Building”. After you turn into the parking lot, go toward the far back right end of the lot. You will see a smaller sign pointing toward the Mcity Auxiliary Building down a small gravel road. Drive down the short gravel road until you see a few parking spots at the end, near the gate to the facility (there are a few dumpsters there also). We will come to meet you at the gate.

Please be on time. Participants are scheduled for specific time blocks based on availability of the track. We cannot move participants to other times of day. If you are running late or have problems finding the facility, please text or call the number on your email.

Let us know in advance if you will have any mobility or accessibility issues walking from your car or for completing online forms. We will arrange for accomodations.
