Project Community is an experiential program that is designed to allow students to engage in community-engaged learning experiences through a sociological lens.
Students are able to gain new perspectives on social inequalities through their experiences at a variety of sites, including elementary schools, after school programs, health clinics, correctional facilities, social services agencies, advocacy centers, and other community organizations in Southeast Michigan. Program areas include: Education, Public Health, and Criminal Justice
Project Community currently offers two courses: SOC 225-Project Community:Sociology in Action and SOC 325-Project Community Advanced Practicum. Please view the LSA course guide for enrollment information. Fall 2020 course descriptions will be posted soon!
