We’re happy to announce Ruchama King Feuerman, Eric Rivera, and John Rybicki as the winners of MQR’s 2016 Literary Prizes.
Alyson Hagy has won the $1,000 Lawrence Foundation Prize for 2015. The prize is awarded annually by the Editorial Board of MQR to the author of the best short story published that year in the journal. Hagy’s story “Switchback” appeared in the Spring 2015 issue. “Switchback” is a mature, finely crafted story set in Yellowstone country and dealing with limitations and acceptance.
Courtney Sender has won the $1000 Lawrence Foundation Prize for 2014. The prize is awarded annually by the Editorial Board of MQR to the author of the best short story published that year in the journal. Sender’s story “We Can Practice Starts” appeared in the Spring 2014 issue.
