Financial Aid Opportunities

MMSS financial aid is limited and need-based. You can apply for aid using the online application that you use for admission to the MMSS program. Applying for financial aid will not affect your admission decision.

If you wish to be considered for aid, you must enter information from the first page of your (family) most recent tax return into your application. You will also be asked to submit a short statement on why aid is being requested.

Students who apply for financial aid will be notified of award decisions in early April. We encourage those interested in aid to apply as early as possible. Please note that any funds awarded can only be used to cover program fees. MMSS financial aid cannot be used cover travel costs.

For questions about MMSS’s internal financial aid, please email [email protected] or call 734-647-4466.

Scholarship Opportunities

University of Michigan – Center for Educational Outreach

The University of Michigan Center for Educational Outreach offers the Watson A. Young Scholarship application on their website. The Watson Young Scholarship offers funding to deserving high school students so they can attend a U-M sponsored summer program. Please be aware that only Michigan residents are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the Center for Educational Outreach and is separate from MMSS financial aid.

In the spirit of the life of Watson A. Young, M.D., the goal of this program is to promote academic excellence and college aspiration for students with financial need who may face adversity in achieving their academic and career goals.

The CEO website lists general information about summer academic enrichment programs and specific information is available on each program’s website.  If you have a question about summer programs overall or about the Watson A. Young scholarship, contact CEO at 734 647-1402 or [email protected].
